The addiction treatment programme provides a full year of care, starting with a 28 day inpatient stay. The care package includes physical and psychiatric examinations, detoxification where necessary, group and individual therapy, educational lectures and workshops, holistic activities, an optional family participation programme, six weeks of extended care and a one year aftercare support group.
Family involvement For Addiction Patients
At Priory, we believe addiction is an illness that affects the whole family. Family members can be severely affected by the consequences of having a loved one with an addiction. The family often also plays an important role in recovery. For this reason we offer an optional 10 week family support programme free of charge to close relatives of those in treatment.
Aftercare For Addiction Patients
Priory also believes that the longer someone engages in treatment the better their longterm chances of abstinence. For this reason, anyone that successfully completes the 28 day inpatient programme will be provided with six half days of day care, delivered to them once a week upon discharge, and a year-long free aftercare support programme.
Out-patient treatment and follow-up appointments are also available.
Outpatients
Many of our patients are seen as outpatients which means that they visit the hospital to see a consultant psychiatrist at a time that is convenient to them. Outpatient appointments are available from 9.00am to 8.00pm Monday to Friday and from 9.00am to 2.00pm on Saturday.
